Bloubergstrand is suburb of Cape Town along the shores of Table Bay which is about 25 kilometres north of the city centre. The beach is famous for its classic views of Table Mountain and the bay. It is also a very popular spot for kite surfing due to the strong westerly winds.

The first European settlement of the Cape started in 1652 when Jan van Riebeek arrived to establish a shipping outpost for the Dutch East India Company.
