A Developing Future: Impact Investing & Foreign Aid for a Greater Good

A Developing Future: Impact Investing & Foreign Aid for a Greater Good – a Africa interest event taking place on 2017-07-20 19:00:00 in United States

From grants to loans, private markets to public funds, the aid space is getting increasingly crowded with players, tools, strategies, and philosophies that drive our relationship with the “Majority World.” As we gear up to collectively accomplish the ambitious UN Sustainable Development Goals, impact investors, foreign aid agencies, INGOs, and development entrepreneurs are often targeting similar problems from various entry points — and our new political context forces even more radical conversations around how U.S. funders structure aid packages, both at home and abroad.   What makes a makes a viable and appropriate opportunity to intervene from a market perspective? Where is philanthropy-based aid irreplaceable for our basic standards as humanitarians & stewards of the planet? What tools and successful case studies are already out there and working well? And in a new landscape, how might we most effectively collaborate and organize ourselves in the marketplace.   Join us for an evening of reflection with leaders in the industry, the opportunity to meet like-minded peers and invite new players into this space.
