A YouTuber friend of mine – Goldy (youtube.com – asked me how I made the thumbnails for my videos. This is a short tutorial that shows how I currently make my thumbnails. Keep in mind that there is no set or ‘correct’ way to do them. Hell you can do them however you want, but I do think that you should follow a couple principles when creating custom video thumbnails. I use two very simple methods to determine my video thumbnail: 1.) Use an interesting/cool/attractive frame: Chances are if it looks cool, people will click it. Very simple and straightforward method. 2.) Use relevant imagery/wallpaper: In the event that your most interesting frame isn’t looking too good due to size or whatever, simply take something relevant. The relevant part is important. Sure you might be able to bait some views using half-naked women as your thumbnails but say goodbye to those retention rates. I also like to add relevant text that further informs/clarifies things for the viewer. ——- MUSIC Feint – Sleepless youtube.com ———————————————————————– TWITTER – twitter.com FACEBOOK – facebook.com ———————————————————————–
