Leandi Beling has over two decades of diverse experience in the retail travel and aviation industry and has worked for Flight Centre, Seekers Travel, and Harvey World Travel. She joined Cathay Pacific in 2008, holding various positions in the organisation’s passenger and sales departments before being appointed as the airline’s Cargo Manager for South Africa, Kenya, and the Indian Ocean Islands in 2020.
Beling is responsible for overseeing and leading the cargo commercial strategies and business in the said regions whilst ensuring absolute compliance with safety and operational standards.
Beling strongly believes in equality and empowering women through mentoring, learning opportunities and skill sharing. She says she owes everything she’s achieved over her career to strong women in her life and hopes to follow in the same footsteps – inspiring even more women.
Shanna Docherty – Head of Sales for Cathay Pacific South Africa and the Indian Ocean
Shanna Docherty has over ten years of experience in the aviation industry, working for airlines such as Virgin Atlantic and Air France KLM. She joined Cathay Pacific in 2019 as Cargo Manager and thereafter took up the role of Head of Sales for Cathay Pacific South Africa and the Indian Ocean in 2020.
Docherty’s responsibilities include identifying new business opportunities and maximising revenue across channels as well as contributing to the airline, its customers and the communities. Docherty says she’s proud to be part of the resilient aviation industry that was hard hit during the pandemic.
She holds a BA degree in communication science and advocates for female skills development and females creating opportunities for themselves.
