Women Talk : Conferences a panel of speakers sharing their experiences and advice for speaking at tech and design conferences Wednesday, January 10th, 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM Women Talk Design is on a mission to see diverse speakers on stage. In this panel discussion, we've invited designers at different stages of their career, who have spoken at conferences and public events. Learn how they got their first speaking engagement, what conferences they attend, how they prepare for giving a talk, and what advice they have for those getting started. We hope you'll leave inspired to share your own ideas and experiences, and get out there and speak. Agenda:  6:30 – 6:50 – Meet and mingle 6:50 – 8:15 – Panel & Q&A 8:15 – 8:30 – More networking Panelists: Cindy Alveraz Cindy Alvarez is the Director of User Experience for Yammer (a Microsoft company), and the author of Lean Customer Development: Build Products Your Customers Will Buy. She has held leadership positions in design, product management, and research in a number of technology startups. These days, she uses her background in Lean tactics to help drive intrapreneurial change within Microsoft. She's a frequent speaker on UX, Lean, and tech culture, and has spoken at Lean Startup New York, The Lean Event in Manchester, From Business to Buttons in Stockholm and more. She tweets as @cindyalvarez. Michelle Morrison As a Design Program Manager, Michelle develops systems and cultivates team culture that supports organizational capacity to build world-class products. She believes that happy teams ship better products faster. She is currently a Senior Design Producer at Intercom and has worked with world-class teams at Apple, Square, IDEO.org, and Facebook. She also loves scrappy creative & startup projects that push the boundaries on values-based work. She believes that we should all be building the world we want to live in. Michelle has spoken at IXDA's Interaction Conference, Startup Iceland, Pixel Up! in South Africa, Vectors in San Francisco, and more. She tweets as @michelephant. Paola Mariselli Paola is a Product Designer at Facebook, where her work centers around Sharing. Previously, she worked on Instant Articles, Facebook Live, and Videos. She has been in technology since age 12, when she began taking hardware classes. Since then, she’s explored many roles in the technology industry, including marketing, finance, and project management. She’s worked at a variety of companies, including Credit Suisse, Groupon, and Atidan. She was born and raised in Lima, Peru, and moved to Florida when she was 15. She has given talks in English and Spanish at UX Copenhagen, MobX Mobile UX Summit in Germany, at several events in Chile and Peru, and more. She tweets as @paolaMariselli.   Refreshments and snacks will be served. The event is open to everyone.
