They sound like something out of a 1950s B-Grade movie but according to a discovery by researchers from the University of British Columbia, they're very real. This species lays its eggs on the abdomen of spiders and then hijacks their brains resulting in the arachnids becoming zombies! The wasp hijacks the spider's nervous system, forcing it to leave its colony, protect the wasp's larvae and ultimately get eaten alive.
