April 2024, Durban, KwaZulu-Natal: Westown, the new city of the west in Shongweni KwaZulu-Natal, has entrenched its support of the local equestrian community, through the sponsorship of the 2024 edition of the Westown South African Youth Championships, taking place at the Shongweni Club from 28 June to 4 July 2024. The event will see over 550 horses and ponies from around the country, competing for the prestigious South African titles for juniors under 18 years of age across the equestrian disciplines of show jumping, dressage, equitation, showing and eventing.
Westown’s sponsorship of the Youth Champs is not only a commitment to the people and the activities that contribute to the character of the outer west but to the KZN region as the Durban Shongweni Club plays host to this national event. “We recognise the profile and prestige of the club and what it brings to the Shongweni area , as well as the significant value of the equestrian community both regionally and across the country,” says Carlos Correia CEO of Fundamentum Property Group, the developers of the Westown project.
