The William Henry Harrison District of the Dan Beard Council, Boy Scouts of America will hold its 31st annual West Side Sports Breakfast on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 7:30 a.m. at the Willow Event Center in Colerain Township, Ohio.
This year’s Keynote Speaker will be Marty Brennaman, Baseball Hall of Famer and Voice of the Cincinnati Reds. Marty is in his 46th and final season announcing Reds games. He won the Ohio Sportscaster of the Year award 17 times, was inducted to the Baseball Hall of Fame with the Ford C. Frick Award in July 2000 and also called the famous “Christian Laettner Game” with Duke shocking Kentucky on an improbable final-second shot!
The West Side Sports Breakfast is an event that recognizes community leaders that exemplify servant leadership, Scouting values, and serve as role models to young people. This year’s honorees include Jeff Brandt, Superintendent of Oak Hills Local School District, Dr. Gary Weisenberger of Troop 710 Northwest Community Church and Cincinnati Landmark Productions. The Dan Beard Council, Boy Scouts of America selects their esteemed honorees for their community service past and present including their leadership roles supporting many youth initiatives throughout our neighborhoods. Proceeds from the event benefit the 2,300 youth in the Scouting program in Western Hamilton County.
This is the premier fundraising event in the William Henry Harrison District, increasing awareness and support of Scouting in local communities on the West Side. Donations support local programming and outreach services for youth of Dan Beard Council, Boy Scouts of America.
