2 vols., 12mo, contemporary full green straight-grain morocco, gilt, gilt edges; small stains on cover, very slightly rubbed. In a cloth slip case.
A fine example of the art of fore-edge painting, each volume bearing a double painting on the fore-edge, as follows:
Vol. 1: The Gate House, Highgate, showing a street and houses. The Tower of London, with ships at anchor in the Thames River.
Vol. 2: The Foundling Hospital, with street and carriage, etc. in the foreground. London from Highgate, with houses and field in the foreground. With the Reginald Gurney bookplate.
