Tower 42, City of London

Tower 42 was originally named the National Westminster Tower.
Constructed in 1971 and completed by 1980. Standing 600ft hight, it was the tallest skyscraper in the whole of the UK and in London alone until 1990 with the completion of One Canada Square, Canary Wharf, Tower Hamlets in 1990, itself loosing the tallest skyscraper title in the UK to Heron Tower, also in the City of London by 2011.
In April 1993, the building sustained extensive damage following an IRA attack known as the Bishopgate bombing in which one person was killed.
The building was refurbished internally which cost £75 million.
It’s now owned by the South African-born businessman Nathan Kirsh after the building was sold for £282.5 million in 2011.
