Come and explore the ‘Tintanic’ exhibition – docking at Randridge Mall
We are proud to announce that the ‘Tintanic’ will be docking at Randridge Mall between 25 March – 24 April 2022. It’s the largest Titanic model in Africa measuring an awe-inspiring 8,7 meters, featuring 4000 internal cabins and public rooms on 9 different deck levels. It boasts the title of the most unique Titanic replica in the world.
This year marks the 110-year anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, which struck an iceberg and sank in the North Atlantic Ocean on the 14th of April 1912.
This inland tour of the ‘Tintanic’ is in proud association with the vintage brand Vinolia. They were the original advertiser for the Titanic and supplied first-class passengers with rose fragranced soap on the voyage.
Randridge Mall welcomes the ‘Tintanic’ back after being on the road for four years and will be the final destination on the tour. Visitors to the Randridge Mall exhibition of the ‘Tintanic’ will be treated to a sneak peak of a new audio-visual show called “UNSYNCABLE!”. This not-to-be-missed spectacle will also feature two life-sized Titanic deck chairs which visitors can use to pose on for unique photographs. This will not be available at any other location in the world! Take this amazing opportunity to experience what it felt like to be a first-class Titanic passenger.
The final tour will be filmed and broadcast to the TITANIC QUARTER Museum in Belfast Ireland and the TITANIC MUSEUM ATTRACTION Museums in the United States in May, 2022.
There will also be loads of prizes up for grabs during the promotional period at the Randridge Mall ‘Tintanic’ exhibition. In fact, the total value of the prizes that can be won is valued at R18 000!
This is one exhibition not to be missed!
OFFICIAL QUOTE FROM THE ARTIST
“I am thrilled to be back on home ground in Johannesburg after four magical years and extremely grateful for being fortunate to have millions of people countrywide who came out in mass support of a unique South African artwork. I cannot thank my lucky stars enough. It was unimaginable that we would appear in the Kalahari district, and when “TINTANIC” again opened under glittering chandeliers in Sun Internationals Flamingo Casino it was a real tear jerker – I thought to myself… what other artwork in the world gets this kind of reaction? It inspires one to take on any challenge!
Our “Queen of the Ocean” now comes to Randridge Mall in Randburg this April 2022 where we will celebrate the end of a dream – or the beginning of a new one – as it were. It is a bittersweet emotional moment for me – where “TINTANIC” and I will stand side by side waiting for the end – so we can be reunited in studio where it will be just the two of us again. We did it… we showed them who we are. Well done ol’ girl!
When I think about those early days in studio, nearing completion on the “TINTANIC” model – I could never have imagined this wonderful tour. I am tremendously proud to be the torch holder for our South African heritage with the event, in honor of the TITANIC SOCIETY OF SOUTH AFRICA *(1985 – 2008) and to pay tribute to Edith Brown Haisman and her parents Thomas and Elizabeth Brown of Cape Town who sailed on the TITANIC that April, and lived to tell the tale. We were there too – and the world is about to learn so much more of our involvement. These last shows will be exquisite – we are going to sail into history.”
