The call of the road

Part of the A169 road leading down from the Hole of Horcum towards Goathland, a familiar stretch of road for people travelling to Whitby to see the sea –
The road skirts the rim of the "hole of horcum" before descending on a steep and sweeping 20degree incline before making its way across flyingdale moor towards Whitby.
I stopped at the top of the hill to take some photos of "the hole" (i’ll post the photos over the next few days) on the way back from a weekend camping at Goathland; The road has a really nice curve to it so i thought i’d take some photos of that too.
The car troubles me a little, it kinda looks a bit small (probably the wide angle effect), but i think this is probably the best shot i got with a car in it – im thinking maybe i should have left it to get a little closer to the right edge first, and angled the camera a little more to the right to get more of the road (compositionally speaking). I got shots without any cars, but i don’t think it works as well without them.
This was just after a storm, luckily there was a short break in the clouds as i arrived at the car park with some sun, otherwise i would have carried on home – i’d already got *SOAKED* thru that day on the beach at Robin Hoods bay when a thunderstorm suddenly arrived without much warning!
I like the added broodiness from the high-contrast black and white, tho its a bit of a shame you cant see how purple and beautiful the moors were with heather (but you’ll see that in later shots).
