All Kids Can has partnered with Alex Makin, Director of Sports Performance at Hanover College, for this Soccer Sports Performance Camp. WHEN: July 8th – July 12th (Monday – Friday) | 11:00 am – 12:30 pm WHERE: Soccer camps will be held on the Football Field at Hanover College (Alumni Stadium/Wayne Perry Field) and Horner Center respectively. Alex will have all Parents meet out there and then fill them in on the movements and where they will meet once we return to Horner. Sports Performance has very quickly become an important aspect for all sports from the youth level through to professional. The goal of Sports performance at the youth level places a large emphasis on the movement of the athlete and the beginning development of strength to ensure the athlete can handle the progressive demands placed on the body and in turn prevent injuries before they happen. During the Camp Performance sessions, Alex will explain the importance of the Big 6 movement patterns and demonstrate a range of strength and conditioning exercises that will be built on as the athlete continues their career. Although the movements at the youth level should not be too "Sport specific" there are many movements Alex will emphasize to ensure that the athlete develops functional strength relative to the Sport/s played. Camp Outline: Each day will involve partial time in the weight room/ courts (Exercises will be dependent on age). and the other part will involve field work and drills that will demonstrate effective warm up and cool down strategies, plyometric and agility drills, and appropriate cool down techniques that can be implemented at practices and games.
