Silences Between: Last Words from the Cross – a Music interest event taking place on 2019-05-18 20:00:00 in United States
Between heartbeats, there is silence. May Festival Creative Partner James MacMillan leads a performance of his Seven Last Words from the Cross. This momentous work explores seven expressions from Christ and seven hallowed appeals to the divine, with the power of music as the setting. Poulenc's strikingly modern Gloria underlines his own appeals to a higher power with a balance of probing irreverence. This is music to stir the soul.
