Steam rises over the rim of the Kilauea volcano crater on the Big Island of Hawaii at sunrise

Steam rises over the rim of the Kilauea Volcano crater on the Big Island of Hawaii at sunrise. I rose early to catch the morning light, but hadn’t anticipated the steam rising from the volcano below. Lucky me.

The theme for our July Editors’ photo challenge is “Landscape Photography.”

This is your chance to show us your favorite landscape photos featuring the beauty of the natural world. From sweeping vistas to creative compositions, we want to see your most stunning shots where nature is the main focus.

Your photos may include man-made elements, but we’re looking for images where the landscape is the star of the show. We know there are some talented landscape photographers here on DPReview, and we can’t wait to see your images.

This challenge is also open to stitched panoramas.

Photos can be submitted between Sunday, July 6, and Saturday, July 12 (GMT). The challenge is open to photos captured at any time.

Important: Images MUST include a title and a caption of at least 25 words to be eligible. We need to be able to share the story behind your photo. We will consider both photos and captions when selecting our winners, so make sure to tell us that story!

Visit the challenge page to submit your photo to the challenge. Winners will be featured on the DPReview homepage later this month.

Our DPREVIEW Tribute:

After nearly 25 years of operation, DPReview closed on 10 April 2023. This difficult decision was part of the annual operating plan review that parent company, Amazon, shared earlier this year.

Over the course of 25 years, DP Review built up a reputation as being one of the most informative places to go for information about that new camera or lens you’re after. DP Review began as an independent reviews site based in the UK in 1998, the brainchild of Philip and Joanna Askey, but it was eventually purchased by Amazon in 2007 and relocated over to Seattle in the USA in 2010.

Cheers DPReview – thanks for the great work and content that guided photographers, videographers and techno junkies the world over!
