A south african actor video selected by www.Free-Mail.co.za:
Sharlto Copley, Elysium – South African actor Sharlto Copley made a huge impression on North American audiences when he starred in the hit film District 9, directed by his good friend Neill Blomkamp. Copley re-teams with Blomkamp in his much-anticipated follow-up Elysium, a sci-fi action film set in the not-too-distant future about two separate societies, inhabited by the extreme rich and the dirt poor.
Tribute.ca spoke with Sharlto in Los Angeles about playing the bad guy, why it works so well with him and Blomkamp, and how he is dealing with his success in Hollywood.
Elysium movie synopsis:
In the year 2154, two classes of people exist. The first are the very wealthy who live on Elysium, a pristine man-made space station built by the Armadyne Corporation. The rest live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth.
Secretary Rhodes (Jodie Foster), a hard-nosed government official, will stop at nothing to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium. That does not stop the people of Earth from trying to get in, by any means they can. When unlucky ex-con Max (Matt Damon) is backed into a corner, he agrees to take on a daunting mission that if successful will not only save his life, but could bring equality to these polarized worlds.
