| Ricoh GR IV | F16 | 1/500 sec | ISO 200 Photo: Mitchell Clark |
Last week, Ricoh fully announced the GR IV, the latest iteration of its photographer’s compact camera. Compared to its predecessor, it has a new sensor, new processing engine and a new lens, so there’s plenty to consider when it comes to its performance.
We’ve gotten the chance to shoot with it in a variety of conditions to see how it performs. Be sure to let us know what you think in the comments below, and keep an eye out for more photos as we continue our review process.
Please do not reproduce any of these images on a website or any newsletter/magazine without prior permission (see our copyright page). We make the originals available for private users to download to their own machines for personal examination or printing; we do so in good faith, so please don’t abuse it.

Our DPREVIEW Tribute:
After nearly 25 years of operation, DPReview closed on 10 April 2023. This difficult decision was part of the annual operating plan review that parent company, Amazon, shared earlier this year.
Over the course of 25 years, DP Review built up a reputation as being one of the most informative places to go for information about that new camera or lens you’re after. DP Review began as an independent reviews site based in the UK in 1998, the brainchild of Philip and Joanna Askey, but it was eventually purchased by Amazon in 2007 and relocated over to Seattle in the USA in 2010.
Cheers DPReview – thanks for the great work and content that guided photographers, videographers and techno junkies the world over!
