Loosely translated as "Get Funky!", Ranky Tanky is a band of South Carolina natives who keep the Gullah musical tradition alive and fresh with a repertoire of playful game songs, heartbreaking spirituals, and delicate lullabies. The musical roots of Charleston, SC, are "rank" and fertile ground. A seminal Charleston Jazz quartet and one of the most sought-after vocalists in the Low Country have joined together to celebrate a "Heartland of American Music" born in their own backyards.
