This September we raise a glass to the Negroni, one of cocktail culture’s most enduring classics. In celebration of Negroni Week, few cocktails strike the balance of bitter, sweet and bright quite like a Negroni.
This timeless serve brings together equal parts gin, sweet vermouth and Campari, with a couple of dashes of orange bitters adding an extra layer of citrusy warmth- a simple yet sophisticated ritual that continues to inspire cocktail lovers worldwide.
Stirred over ice and served in an Old Fashioned glass, it’s finished with a generous orange twist for a fragrant, elegant touch.
Simple, beautifully balanced and effortlessly inviting, it’s a drink made for lingering over.
The Negroni
Ingredients
1 shot Gin
1 shot Sweet Vermouth
1 shot Campari
2 Dashes ANGOSTURA orange bitters
Orange zest for garnish
Method
Add the gin, sweet vermouth, Campari and orange bitters to a mixing glass filled with ice. Stir well until well chilled, then strain it into an Old Fashioned glass over fresh ice. Express an orange twist over the cocktail to release its fragrant oil, then use it as garnish.
Negroni Week is an invitation to celebrate the simple pleasures of a well-made drink- gathering around the table, discovering new interpretations and raising a glass with purpose. Whether enjoyed as a classic, or shared with friends, this Negroni is a timeless reminder that sometimes the best cocktails are the ones that bring people together.
