Quiz – Which Prepaid Water Meter is Best For Your Property?

Quiz – Which Prepaid Water Meter is Best For Your Property?:

A simple Google Search for a Prepaid Electricity and Water Meters will serve up many results from different manufacturers, wholesalers, suppliers and installers. The choices can be bewildering. At Straton Prepaid we are quite conservative with the equipment that we supply and install – 5 decades of experience have led us to stick to tried and tested equipment that we would use in our own homes or business premises. And long hard lessons in the value of NOT having comebacks also taught us the value of supplying equipment that is reliable. That, in turn, translates into satisfied clients and savings from lower operating costs to make our pricing more competitive.

With that said Straton Pre-paid currently offer two prepaid water meters – one of local manufacture and one imported from China. Both do the job of measuring and dispensing water equally well and both are STS Compliant. Both have been through many years of testing on the workbench and in the field.

So, why offer two then? Simple – one is cheaper and ultrasonic (ultrasonic measurement ensures better accuracy and performance in all types and conditions of water) and the other is a tad higher in price and uses a pulse output water meter in order to enable metering measurement, leak and tamper detection.

Take the quiz on the Straton Prepaid web site if you are ‘Math Challenged’ or read on if you aced Maths Literacy!

  • Mostly A’s mean you should choose the Amanzi Prepaid Water Meter with its additional analog water meter, shut off valve, IP 68 rating and plastic enclosure.
  • Mostly B’s means you should choose the cheaper Hexing Prepaid Water Meter with it’s ultrasonic measurement.

BOTH prepaid meters are supplied with a keypad that allows the user to replace batteries.

It is recommended that a non-return valve/strainer be installed on the municipal side of the meter.
