Perm for a purpose initiative to help Little Eden Society raise funds towards medical costs

Our favourite duo is back! Changing their hair for a good cause. LITTLE EDEN Society CEO Xelda Rohrbeck and Carl Rohrbeck, former LITTLE EDEN Society staff member, are on a mission to help LITTLE EDEN Society raise R55 000 by 30 April 2022. Should that target be reached, Xelda and Carl will both perm their hair!

LITTLE EDEN Society is a registered non-profit organisation providing life-long care to 300 children and adults with profound intellectual disability in two custom-designed residential facilities – Domitilla and Danny Hyams Home in Edenvale, and Elvira Rota Village, in Bapsfontein. The Society believes that no matter how profoundly disabled a person may be, he or she is still a whole complete being, with a body; a mind; a spirit and a soul. Although the average age of the residents is 26 years, the average intellectual age is that of a one-year-old. Some function at newborn level and have to be fed, carried, changed and bathed. Others are able to manage tasks like feeding themselves, brushing their teeth, dressing and using the toilet.

The children are grouped according to their abilities and behaviour. Many of the residents also suffer from mental illness, disturbed behaviour and multiple physical disabilities. They are cared for in specific groups where they feel comfortable and safe. The majority of LITTLE EDEN’s residents have been abandoned or come from indigent families who are unable to support them financially or otherwise. Dealing with the terminally ill forms part of the work carried out at LITTLE EDEN. For most, this is the only home they will ever know.

This year, LITTLE EDEN Society Celebrates 55 years of providing love and care to the marginalised. To continue doing this special work, the Society seeks to raise funds for their medical costs. Please help LITTLE EDEN Society raise R55 000 towards the medical care items needed by 30 April 2022. Be a part of this exciting campaign that will benefit 300 residents at LITTLE EDEN Society.
