After our amazing launch party which saw Reginald Omas Mamode and XOA funkin’ up our basement club, Peanut Butter Funk is back at The Book Club this April!
For part 2 we’re bringing along two of our favourite live acts in the business, ‘ ‘Me & My Friends’ a special guest DJ we (announced on April 7th) for an intimate and rare DJ sets as they both dig into the music that’s inspired them over the years

As with the launch we will be celebrating a mixture of global sounds present, past and future from the Caribbean, South American and African continents as well as exploring the outer peripheries of disco, funk, soul, highlife, dub, hip-hop, broken beat and beyond.
As one of the highest regarded afro collectives on the circuit Nubyian Twist have been getting dancefloors moving for over 5 years! Expect their selectors to bring a real mixed bag that dips in and out of afro beat, jazz, funk and Latin rhythms. As well as DJ’ing on the night they will be bringing along some special live instrumentation to accompany their set and we can’t wait to see it all go down in our basement home.
Me & My Friends, are a 5-piece band that mix the chilled out vibes of UK folk music colliding head-on with the golden-era music of 1970s West Africa and the Caribbean. Bound by a mutual love of the sun-drenched vintage sounds of afrobeat, soukous, highlife and roots reggae we can’t wait for them to come and select some of the best sounds from across Africa as well as other funk fuelled rarities.
