OPPO, Changing the technology landscape, one smartphone at a time

OPPO, Changing the technology landscape, one smartphone at a time:

OPPO Evolution

Johannesburg – Technology for Mankind, Kindness for the World, a business philosophy that has driven OPPO’s growth in markets across the world. In its make-up and design, the company has created smartphone features that are not just a gimmick but address consumer pain points.
This year, OPPO is gearing up for the launch of its most premium model yet, the Reno8 Series, which will launch with two models the Reno8 5G Pro and the Reno8 5G, packed with features that make the life of the user easier.

The human-led innovation has inspired OPPO’s growth in the South African market, since its launch in the market two years ago, altering the technological landscape by creating affordable access to premium technology, allowing locals the opportunity to explore and experience world-class innovation.

“Due to the diversification of premium smartphone options since 2012 and people’s increased daily screen time, having access to a smart device has become essential. With so many options available to buyers, there are only a limited number of significant differentiators that distinguish one brand from another, says Liam Faurie, Head of Operations and Go-to markets for OPPO South Africa. Our intention is to capitalise on our advantages in design, flash charging, photography, and collaborations.”

“Our focus with our latest offerings and our approach to business in the local market is to become a truly South African brand. Hence, our approach to devices that are responsive to the needs of our customers, like our SuperVOOC battery charging technology that allows consumers to continue living their lives alongside load shedding.

Becoming a truly, South African brand, means entrenching ourselves among South Africans, we are doing so as the official smartphone partner of Orlando Pirates Football Club, giving us access to large numbers of potential customers. As well as through our partnership with the South African Fashion Week, we can tap into local creativity that is aligned with our brand of creativity and innovation in technology.

The anticipated launch of the Reno8 series in late September is an exciting one for us, as it adds to our potential growth in the market. Growth offers OPPO an opportunity to continue empowering local teams and creating employment across all our operations. To date, we have provided over 500 jobs in South Africa,” he concludes.
