NYC – Brooklyn: Sheepshead Bay Subway Station – Postcards from Sheepshead Bay

Sheepshead Bay, an express station on the BMT Brihgt Line serving the B (formerly D) and Q lines, was opened in 1908. Originally, it served as a terminal station, until the extension towards Brighton Beach was built in 1917.
Postcards from Sheepshead Bay, a series of ceramic tile mosaics by Deborah Goletz, was installed in 1998. The three interior artwork designs are \strollers crossing the Ocean Avenue Bridge, a fisherman, and a swimmer diving. The exterior wall features a "Greeting from Sheepshead Bay" postcard, with cutouts which are accessible from behind for people to look out through and become part of the artwork.
