We are delighted to welcome award-winning radical politics and protest reporter, Jack Shenker, to discuss his latest work; Now We Have Your Attention: The New Politics of the People. Now We Have Your Attention uncovers the root causes of our current political crisis, and the future direction of British politics through the lives of ordinary individuals. Shenker takes readers into communities hollowed by austerity and economic disadvantage; against the backdrop of Westminster chaos.Jack Shenker has written for a wide range of publications; including Granta, the New York Times and the London Review of Books. Through his work, he has covered Gaza, Africa and Central Asia; as well as Britain and Europe. In his mid-twenties, he was appointed Guardians Egypt correspondent during the 2011 revolution and Arab uprisings.Jack will be in conversation with journalist and author Ellie Mae OHagan. Having written for The Guardian, the Times and New Statesman; Ellie now works with the Centre for Labour and Social Studies, a thinktank for left debate and discussion through the trade union movement.Please join Jack and Ellie for what promises to be a thought-provoking evening of conversation.
