Sandwood Bay in NW Sutherland, and on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean is a wonderful place for a day trip. It is even better to make a backpacking trip to camp on the sand dunes and watch the sun set out to sea and listen to the rolling Atlantic breakers from the tent.
