Some photos from our short winter holiday on the island of Fuerteventura, part of the Canaries. In Fuerteventura, you can swim in the Atlantic Ocean even in the middle of the European Winter, and you can also catch a decent sunburn.
While the coastline is dotted with hotels and tourist destination, the inside of this 100 by 30km island is a barren, volcanic landscape, with few villages and small farms. It looks a lot like the Southwest of the US.
While the island does not have to offer much besides beautiful beaches and constantly good weather, it is a perfect winter destination. Swimming in the ocean two days before Christmas is definetely a new experience for me 😉
Thanks to the good weather, I was able to use my Polfilter all of the time. I hope the photos show it 😉
