‘Mind your own business’- Music Industry Event in Newcastle – a Music interest event taking place on 2016-07-19 19:30:00 in United Kingdom
More musicians and artists than ever take a DIY approach to creating and releasing their music either on route to a ‘deal’ or as a long term approach. Either way, it’s really important you know some of the fundamentals about the way the music industry works – this session is highly relevant to artists, writers, producers and musicians alike. MU (Musicians’ Union) Regional Organiser Matt Wanstall will cover some of the key areas in this free to attend workshop, and talk about the role of the MU in helping musicians. The event will conclude with a Q & A session and networking drinks. The session will include coverage of: • Copyright – Recording (‘master’) rights and authorial rights (‘publishing’). • Collection Societies (PRS, MCPS, PPL) • Setting up your own release – What to do and be aware of. http://www.loftmusicstudios.co.uk/contact/ This event is run by the MU but is open to both members and non-members, and is free to attend. If you have any questions or any specific access requirements please contact Hannah Senior at the North of England Regional office (0161 236 1764) or email manchester@themu.org.
