Medium Format Photography workshops Learn analgoue and digital medium format photography with experienced professional photographer David Partner. The sessions are for two full days (both Saturdays during half-term) where you will be working from Fotonow's studio, darkroom and digital suite at Ocean Studios (Royal Wiliam Yard). David Partner has exhibited his work worldwide, including projects in the US, Africa, China and the Middle East – his portraits featuring within the National Portrait Gallery collections. He has worked extensively as a commercial photographer, also directing the Association of Photographers for several years – David joined Fotonow as an Associate artist in 2017. DAY ONE will see you get to grips with medium format (120mm) photography; shooting film and developing the results the same day. You will be working in a small group from the studio and concentraing on still-life & portraiture – leaving the day having scanned your own negatives and learned some crucial digital post-production. DAY TWO will introduce you to medium format camera backs, exploring how traditional approaches to image-makeing can be translated into digital photography. The sessions are aimed at the serious fine-art photographer with an opportunity to get creative input on your portfolio and project work from an established photographer. All participants will receice a 10% off joining Fotonow's darkroom membership. Lunch can be bought from Ocean Studios 'Column Bakehouse. cafe. Cost: £45 each day (i.e. £90 for both) and not essential to attend both sessions. Materials included, welcome to bring your own medium format camera if you have / and portfolio for feedback.
