Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden will welcome back one of South Africa’s most beloved singer-songwriters, Matthew Mole, for a captivating live performance on Sunday, 9 February 2025, as part of the Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts. Known for his heartfelt lyrics, infectious melodies, and dynamic live performances, Mole promises an unforgettable afternoon filled with music, surprises, and special guest appearances.

With a career that has seen him top charts and mesmerise audiences across the globe, Matthew Mole has established himself as a powerhouse in the South African music scene. His signature blend of folk, electronic, and pop influences has made hits like “Take Yours, I’ll Take Mine”, with over 30 million views on YouTube, and “Run” anthems for fans of all ages. This year’s performance holds even greater significance, marking his 10th appearance at Kirstenbosch – a milestone that speaks to both his enduring artistry and the undeniable connection he shares with this iconic stage.

Reflecting on the upcoming concert, Matthew Mole shared his excitement: “Kirstenbosch is always the highlight of my year, and this year is my 10th Kirstenbosch. I usually do them by myself, but this year my friend, Amistat, is joining all the way from Europe. I also have a few other surprise guests joining, and I’ll be trying out a few brand-new songs amongst the familiar ones. It’s going to be an amazing afternoon!”

Fans can expect a magical afternoon where Mole’s signature sound is complemented by a live experience that is both intimate and electrifying. The lush natural surroundings of Kirstenbosch will once again provide the perfect setting for his soulful storytelling and energetic stage presence.

Sarah Struys, Events and Tourism Manager at Kirstenbosch spoke on the significance of welcoming Matthew Mole back to the stage: “Matthew’s performances at Kirstenbosch are nothing short of spectacular. His music resonates deeply with our audiences, weaving together joy, nostalgia, and an undeniable sense of connection. His return, especially with surprise collaborations, promises an atmosphere filled with warmth and musical brilliance. This is a performance that should not be missed.”
