The aim of this Masterclass is to look at what cyber security is, what cyber risk means for businesses and how it affects everyone and every business. We will discuss recent events such as the cyber attack on NHS Trusts and other high profile organisations, and how you can manage the risk to your business. This short Masterclass is designed to help any growing SME looking to understand what cyber security is and how to manage the risks. This Masterclass would be best suited to business management teams. Benefits to the business Businesses will go away with ideas that will help them assess cyber risk. Who is leading it? This masterclass will be led by Andrew Mills, the founder and Director of Datamills (UK) Ltd, and the host of Datamills Digital Café events. Datamills (UK) Ltd was founded in 2007, and offers a breadth of computer expertise and experience to small to medium sized business located in Yorkshire, Humberside, Lancashire and the Midlands. They are an active member of Yorkshire Cyber Security Cluster. Eligibility This masterclass is open to small and medium-sized enterprises based in the Sheffield City Region. There are a number of eligibility criteria for attendees which we will check using the online registration questions and in a phone call to every attendee prior to the event. FAQ’s What do I need to bring? A laptop is not a requirement but would be useful. What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event? By car – directions from M1: J29 follow directions for Chesterfield A617. Approaching Sheffield at roundabout (Dronfield) continue on A61 (Sheffield). At large roundabout (ring road) turn left along towards Bradway and Holmesfield (Greenhill Parkway). At small roundabout go straight towards Bradway, pass golf club on left and Sainsbury local on right. Take first right down Twentywell Lane (sign posted Millhouses and Dore) and continue to the very bottom. Turn left on A621 Bakewell. Abbeydale Sports Club is approx 400m on right. Free parking is available on site. By train – Dore station is the nearest station and is about 5 minutes walk to the club. Leave the station, turn left and follow main road to Abbeydale Sports Club, just past the tennis club. By bus – services 97 & 98 stop on Abbeydale Road, a short walk from the venue.
