Local Optometrist Finds Best Correction Technology in Zeiss Products

Local Optometrist Finds Best Correction Technology in Zeiss Products:

When Centurion-based Optometrist Melanie Peyper was looking for a way to differentiate herself from her competitors, she found the solution in ZEISS’ VISUSCREEN 500 and VISUPHOR 500.

Peyper, who is the first Optometrist to use the new technology, says she needed to elevate her business above the competition and attract more customers. “I wanted eye-testing equipment that would set me apart. I tested various brands, but none of them were as user-friendly as the ZEISS VISUSCREEN 500 and VISUPHOR 500.

“In addition, I evaluated my patients’ responses to the equipment. When I used the ZEISS products, they were immediately aware I was using new technology and commented on how much better the experience was for them,” adds Peyper.

ZEISS Vision Commercial Manager Vesta Slabbert says the ZEISS VISUSCREEN 500 and VISUPHOR 500 offer practitioners ultimate vision correction, a superior viewing experience and highly satisfied patients.

“The system is operated via a touch screen, with an optional medical grade panel PC or an iPad, allowing users to select patients from a daily worklist or simply start the refraction. It also allows for uploading of pre-sets from ZEISS autorefractors and lensmeters or accessing input from a patient database; as well as choosing from a wide range of optotypes and the preconfiguring of a preferred test workflow,” she explains.

Peyper is enthusiastic about how the technology improves the eye-testing experience for her patients and herself. “Patients often feel daunted at the prospect of having their eyes tested, especially the younger generation. They are also accustomed to the convenience that technology offers them. Using my new ZEISS equipment has made the experience for patients more seamless and it can even be fun for the younger ones.”

She says the layout of the testing programme has made her life a lot easier. “It rules out human error and I no longer need my computer in my consulting room as everything is done via my iPad and the information is stored online. There is no paperwork because lenses can immediately be ordered online.”

Peyper believes immense R&D has gone into perfecting the ZEISS technology. “ZEISS really is several steps ahead of the its competitors. Everything about the product has been designed with precision and user-friendly operability in mind. It has been a great investment for my practice.”
