Japanese ink & watercolour painting course – Beautiful Summer Flower & Butterflies – a Beauty interest event taking place on 2019-05-17 12:45:00 in United Kingdom

This course is a summertime celebration of colours, shapes and fragrance. Join Talia for a 4 workshops course, and learn to paint hollyhock, hydrangea, peony, beetles & butterflies with Japanese ink & watercolour using traditional  brushes, ink and fine paper.  With each subject you will learn about its core feature and ideas, alongside key brush strokes of this technique. Based on simplicity and minimalism, this work is a form of active mediation, a training of discipline of hands and mind. It enhance self confidence and flow with brush, promoting new sets of drawing skills. Each workshop will begin with an introduction and demonstration by Talia, follow on you will learn and practice various brush strokes to create your very own finished painting each workshop. Friday 3/5/2019, 10/5/2019, 17/5/2019, 24/5/2019  12:45-16:15 ? This is a mixed level course ? Each lesson includes study sheets, plenty of practice time, 1-2-1 tutorial,  group discussion and light refreshment. ?  Professional tools and materials are all supplied for the course as well as light refreshments ?  A short list of what students can bring, will be sent to all participants ?  Professional calligraphy sets, brushes and paper can be purchased during the course ?  Due to the heritage nature of Burgh house, places are limited to 12 ? Buttery cafe at Burgh house will be open for light lunch, tea & coffee from 11am  till 5pm ?  Nearest tube: Hampstead / Northern Line ?  Course fees include all your tools & materials, course worksheets, and light refreshment ? FAQ: Do I need previous knowledge? I am a complete beginners. No previous experience in art or ink painting is required. This workshop is designed for a mixed level abilities, and Talia will offer 1-2-1 time for each student to progress in their own rhythm.   How do I get to the Burgh house? Hampstead Tube / Northern line Buses 268, 46, 210 Parking – some pay & display, parking lot on East Heath st. near Hampstead Heath, 7min walk   Is there an age limit? 16 and up   What is the size of the class? 5 -12 students   I am a professional artist, is this for me?  Yes, many professional artists and designers have been studying with Talia and benefit from the aesthetic of Japanese art and practice. The course will offer new ways of observation and understanding composition and space in Japanese ink painting, using the garden as a source of knowledge and inspiration.   What about tools and materials? If you have your own kit, do bring it along. Otherwise, the teacher will provide all that you need for the day, including an opportunity to purchase your very own set of brushes, ink and paper. It is recommended to bring an apron, notepad and pencils and an A3 folder for you practices and finished paintings to carry home.
