A Buddy Vaughn video selected by www.Free-Mail.co.za:
A selection of Greenwich American Legion Drum Corps songs to play in memory of corp member Buddy Vaughn who passed away May 23, 2015, Memorial Day Weekend. He loved the corps and had many cherished memories. Selections are: The Bells Of St. Mary, Onward Christian Soldiers, Glory to the Trumpets and Old Comrade (pictured Dad, grandson Robert Grogan, and son Chris. Dad was so proud)
Chris Vaughn, his son also a member of the corps, explains what Old Comrades means to the Corps:
On this weekend my father played taps for many years with the Greenwich American Legion. Before the parade we would do roll call and do a drum roll for each deceased member of the corp. Today my Dad died and would have been added to this roll call if the band was still in existence. After roll call we would always play Old Comrades. Even though I don’t have my trumpet with me I’m playing Taps in my heart for you. I love you Dad ! I will miss you —
