Hout Bay is a little beach/ harbour area south-east to Cape Town proper. One can shop and eat good seafood at the Mariner’s Wharf, or play on the beach, or take one of the small boats (fee) which regularly departs to Duiker Island — also known as Seal Island! — which is homes to a colony of Cape Fur Seals. Hout Bay is a stop on the Cape Town Sightseeing (‘hop-off, hop-on’) bus tour route.
