Help Anastacia Get a Bone Marrow Transplant

Good day

Please take a few minutes to read my amazing daughter’s journey.

Anastacia is a 22 year old young lady that has come a long way in fighting this disease called cancer and is in desperate need of a bone marrow transplant.

Stacia was 1st diagnosed with AML (Acute Myeloid Leukaemia) in August 2022 at the age of 19. It started with her being sick months on end, eventually she was admitted to Kopanong hospital in Vereeniging, after many needles and blood tests she was diagnosed with AML. Thereafter she was sent to Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital where she was a live in patient of Zakithi Nokosi Clinical Hematology Hospital. We where all so scared for Stacia, nobody expects your 19 year old to get diagnosed with blood cancer, but the fighter that Stacia is she stayed positive.

The hospital started Stacia on chemotherapy straight away, she got very sick and had to endure so much endless amount of needles, pain and anxiety but 8 months later our prayers were answered and Stacia was in remission, she could finally come home. This was a happy time for our family, God had answered our prayers.

Stacia went for monthly check-ups and all was well until she relapsed in April 2024 The cancer was back and more aggressive this time. Zakithi admitted her immediately and started her on the strongest chemo they had. Stacia got very sick again, worse than the 1st time, her spirit was fading, she was so weak, I didn’t recognize my child, her pain was endless and there was nothing I could do to help make it better for her, as her mother this broke my heart seeing my daughter go through this battle. After many cycles of intensive chemotherapy, her immune system was down, Stacia wasn’t eating or drinking, she was to weak to move off her hospital bed. Stacia started getting infections and abscesses which led to her having 3 surgeries to remove abscesses which added an additional 2 months in hospital for her to be strong enough to come home, in December 2024 Anastacia was finally in remission again, our prayers where answered again.

The specialist have shared their concerns that if Stacia has a relapse they don’t have a chemo strong enough for her as her cancer comes back more aggressive. A transplant is the only way to give Stacia the future she so deeply deserves.

We have been blessed with DKMS, they have found a donor match overseas for her and a hospital in Pretoria that is fully equipped to do the transplant, Stacia is a high risk patient and needs specialized equipment and care. DKMS has blessed Stacia with half the funding but we are responsible for raising the remaining amount of R800 000 for the transplant, aftercare and if any complications.

I am reaching out to anyone and everyone to please donate if you are in a position to do so, or share and pray so that my beautiful, loving, caring daughter’s story, to help Stacia get the transplant to give her a chance of a full life

Thank you with all my heart for taking the time to read Anastacia’s journey

With love
