Feeling Beautiful Inside & Out – For Teen Girls and their Moms

Feeling Beautiful Inside & Out – For Teen Girls and their Moms – a Beauty interest event taking place on 2016-01-31 13:00:00 in Canada

Feeling Beautiful Inside & Out, is a unique workshop blending the two worlds of psychology and makeup artistry. Tasha Belix, registered psychologist (and mother of three!) specializing in empowering young girls to be all they can be, leads an open and frank discussion of the pressures faced by today's young women from the media driven ideals of beauty and the potential resulting impacts on self esteem.  Adrienne Furrie, professional makep artist (and mother of two!) specializing in teaching makeup with a light hearted and grounded approach, teaches hands-on beginner makeup skills for young women.  We'd love to have you come and join us as we dive into the fascinating world of beauty, media, self image and makeup! What to expect: – A relaxed, welcoming environment – Hands on and interactive. This is not a two and half hour sit and listen lecture. You will be talking up a storm and the girls will be learning hands on how to do their own quick, every day makeup  – Some great conversation starters, these are big concepts that we're touching on, the real conversations will continue on at home afterwards – FUN. For real. Tasha and Adrienne are both a little ridiculous and enjoy nothing better than a good laugh – Knowledge and inspiration. You're going to head home bursting with ideas, conversations to be had, and new makeup know-how Who this is for: – Young women, typically grades 7-9, who are starting to experiment with makeup and show an interest in their appearance, and their moms!  – Families looking to help reinforce the message to their daughters of be proud of who you are and how you naturally look and to not be misled by false media images and bogus stories – For girls keen to play around with makeup but maybe mom isn't necessarily the one to teach her how, perhaps there's a bit of tension around the subject of makeup and appearance We'd love to have you join us and any questions at all please contact either one of us: Tasha Belix – P: 403.922-9799      E:  tashabelix@shaw.ca     www.tashabelix.com Adrienne Furrie – P: 403.681.4818   E: adrienne@adriennefurrie.com    www.adriennefurrie.com
