A lucky player at Encore Boston Harbor wins big playing AGS’ Royal 9 Baccarat

A lucky guest at Encore Boston Harbor in Everett, Mass., won a record-setting $1,620,355 jackpot on New Year’s Day while playing Royal 9® Baccarat. After placing a single side bet powered by AGS’ STAX Progressive platform, the player triggered the progressive prize, marking the largest jackpot win ever awarded at the property.

“We built STAX to bring incredible wins to players, and this is exactly the kind of excitement we envisioned,” said John Hemberger, SVP and General Manager, Table Games for AGS. “This is a true testament of what a single $5 progressive bet can do.”

The history-making win at Encore Boston Harbor comes after another major AGS jackpot was won at another New England casino in July 2025. On July 9,?a guest won $2,018,742?while playing a blackjack variation with AGS’ Bonus Spin Xtreme® side bet at Mohegan Sun’s Casino of the Earth. The player triggered the Triple Diamond prize, marking the largest table game progressive jackpot in AGS history and one of the top five table game payouts ever recorded at Mohegan Sun.

With more than 2,000 tables across North America, AGS’ progressive systems—STAX and Bonus Spin Xtreme®—continue to elevate the table games experience with thrilling side bets, multi-level jackpots, and life-changing wins.
