ELECTRIC BOOK LOVERS – Book Reading & Signing

ELECTRIC BOOK LOVERS – Book Reading & Signing – a Culture interest event taking place on 2018-08-11 14:00:00 in United States

Join fellow book lovers for the monthly meetup with @electricbooklovers on July 14th at Little Haiti Cultural Complex. Michelle Hollinger is the publisher of The Sisterhood, a vibrant, award-winning publication that celebrates sisterhood in all its multi-faceted splendor. The author of the book, The Sisterhood Exchange, Michelle hosted a radio show of the same name that she used as a platform to engage listeners regarding the sacredness of sisterhood. Her book, WORTHY, has been released and is getting rave reviews – the most common feedback, “I couldn’t put it down.” The book has been added to the fall curriculum of the Johnnie Colemon Theological Seminary. Michelle was the first female editor at The Miami Times and served as associate editor and editor at the South Florida Times. She is also a columnist whose op-eds have appeared in the South Florida Times, Miami Herald, Wilmington Journal, The Miami Times, Florida Courier and Frost Illustrated. In her previous career, Michelle served as a social worker, trainer and program director in the child welfare field. About the the book Worthy: In "Worthy," Michelle Hollinger uncovers the subtle, but powerful factor that limits your ability to see yourself and what you're really capable of with a clear and powerful vision. "Worthy" explains why far too many people live their entire lives dabbling in mediocrity, shrinking so others won't feel insecure and settling for unhealthy relationships that stifle their joy. It also shines a light on why people live their entire lives coming no where near their potential – but not for lack of trying. About Electric Book Lovers is a creative space for local authors and the community to engage in substantive dialogue. The event features a local author each month. The goal is have a space where people who are electrified by books can have a great time and connect with like-minded people.
