While most of the world celebrates Spring Day on the 21st of September, we as South Africans are already looking on to a much more iconic day on our calendars… Heritage Day!
You might have already sorted out the food for Braai Day, but what about the drinks everyone will be enjoying around the fire? Here are two cocktails that are guaranteed to bring the flavour without keeping you away from the festivities.
The Perfect Storm
Ingredients:
60ml Spiced Rum
1tbsp lime juice
3 dashes ANGOSTURA® aromatic bitters
Ginger beer
Lime wedge, for garnish
Method
Add the spiced rum, bitters, and squeeze of a lime wedge to a highball glass filled with ice. Top-up with ginger beer, garnish with the lime wedge, and enjoy.
Rum & Lemonade
Ingredients:
Double shot dark rum
Chilled Lemonade
Crushed ice
4 dashes ANGOSTURA® aromatic bitters
Method
Fill a highball glass with crushed ice. Pour the dark rum over the ice to chill, and top up your glass with lemonade. Add the dashes of ANGOSTURA® aromatic bitters on top, and serve.
