Uitstekend, baie geniet

Daleen is known for the depth of research that went into her books. She pictures the time and social construct in the language spoken by the characters. Although translations of her books are excellently done, the original language provides an element that can not be translated.
In this book, she gives attention to an outsider, someone not part of the mainstream society. Someone with greatness hidden in the past. This is a theme often encountered in her books.
The story plays out in the Southern Cape area in South Africa. This is where Daleen grew up and lived her life. A part of the world she knew well.
This book is well researched and well written.
