The ‘epicenter’ of the Cape Town alternative scene (2nd only to The Playground) in the 90’s. So many memories here.. Glowing embers in The Pit down the fire escape around the back; the ‘hidden’ dance floor (anyone remember this?) lots of Cure, Pavement, Violent Femmes (etc); the white sheets hanging around the dance floor (and the fan) – I don’t think there will ever be a place that will live up to this. It burnt down some time ago – rumor has it that two people were asleep inside – I don’t know..
