A nice Camps Bay Beach image:
Israelite Bay near Point Malcolm WA

We camped at Israelite Bay for a few nights with the GSWA in 1965.
This could be my shot of Point Malcolm, which was further south along the coast.
The old Telegraph station was used by fishermen for camping, we had our tent.
I have a shot of me boiling my washing in a 5 gallon drum on a fire in the sand, a few of my clothes turned green from a green shirt I had.
We dug down a couple of feet to find water. as Edward Eyre did in 1841. If you let it stand awhile it soon released the rotten egg gas smell.
We then drove across to Cocklebiddy and popped down to Twilight Cove…. I had forgotten about that until I just saw the slide of the dunes there in a couple of shots after this one! #10 slide shows the LandRover at the camp! Dated the 5th of June, Mary’s birthday, how about that for a co-incidence, we camped there together later that year, 1965, for Xmas, see… www.flickr.com/photos/spelio/8640600422/in/photostream
then we were married before the end of the next year, 1966!
