BeflCH ••? -— A long arcade, ex-tending parallel withthe surf line, roofed,floored, and lined withseats, joins the Rock-land Cafe to the HotelNantasket, both beingunder one manage-ment. The former is devoted mainly to fish-dinners and chowders; thelatter exhausts all the resources of the market to furnish out its luxurioustables with choice game, meats, and other attributes of a metropolitan menu.The Hotel Nantasket is the Aladdins Palace of this region, — a newand beautiful house, half pavilion and half hotel, rich in towers, gables, andbalconies, and fretting the sky with scores of pinnacles. It is charminglyirregular in shape, and unique in architecture, and in many other waysattractive to the casual visitor. Toward the sea is the band-stand, wherethe famous Cadet Band of Boston renders sweet music, overpowering even ^7
