A cool Camps Bay Beach image:
Golden Blue

The blazing sunrise silhouetted this blue heron in the shallows of Nehalem Bay. My oldest son and I decided to hike to the bay side of the peninsula instead of the beach on this last morning camping at Nehalem Bay State Park.
Required time off without pay does have an up side. Last summer I rented two lenses, a Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 and the Canon 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS, from www.lensrentals.com and headed out on a two week camping trip with my family. We camped at Emmigrant Springs State Heritage Area (OR), Nehalem Bay SP (OR), Deception Pass SP (WA), Lake Wenatchee SP (WA), stayed a few nights in a hotel in eastern Washington for my brothers wedding, then went to Glacier NP, and finally Yellowstone NP. I was able to attend Canon’ s Photography in the Parks workshop in Yellowstone, where I borrowed a 5D MarkII and a 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 DO IS. We camped 10 of the 13 nights we were out, and had a blast.
