Dune "Restoration"…at Davis Park , Fire Island.
This effort washed away by October !!? As were similar efforts at Atlantiqe , and elsewhere , in previous years !
If grass is planted in rows…does that channel the wind to erode away from the roots?..and kill the grass?…so that the artificial "dune" has nothing to anchor it ?!?
Compare this to the RANDOM "NON-PATTERN" , planted by volunteer Boy Scouts , at the Hither Hills State Park Campground …which seems to have suceeded in creating a working buffer , in order to protect the campground?
