"Gracias a la vida" was painted for Coney Art Walls in 2015 by RETNA.
LA-based artist RETNA (Marquis Lewis) first started painting with graffiti and eventually developed his own alphabet influenced by Chicano gang writing in Los Angeles and Egyptian and Mayan calligraphic traditions.
Coney ArtWalls, presented by Thor Equities, is an outdoor street art museum located in Greenwood Beach near the Coney Island boardwalk and beach, curated by Joseph Sitt and Jeffrey Ditch.
