CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA – Construction professionals and waterproofing specialists are highlighting the critical importance of proper substrate preparation as the determining factor in waterproofing system performance and longevity. Industry experts emphasise that even premium waterproofing systems will fail without meticulous preparation using proven, locally-manufactured products.
Poor substrate preparation accounts for the majority of waterproofing failures, leading to costly remedial work, project delays, and warranty claims. For construction professionals, the technical foundation of successful waterproofing lies in understanding what needs to be done before waterproofing application begins.
