August is the month we commemorate approximately 20 000 women who marched for freedom and equality in 1956. For the 65 years since then, South Africa has celebrated our nation’s women, and this year is no different. With international travel restrictions still in effect, domestic travel offers the opportunity to enjoy a well-deserved break-away and experience the beauty of this country with someone special. Locals are encouraged to use this time to spoil the women in their lives with unique experiences only South Africa can provide, including an exclusive stay at the incredible ANEW Resort Ingeli Forest.
Tenielle Pienaar, National Sales Manager at ANEW Hotels & Resorts, says, “Now that restrictions on interprovincial travel have been lifted, domestic travel and getaways to other provinces are a great way to explore the region, reconnect with loved ones, enjoy some quality alone time or get away with the girls. ANEW Resort Ingeli Forest offers an array of outdoor activities for you, your friends and your family. If you’re looking for a more relaxing experience, this is the perfect space for some downtime, with several fireplaces to keep you warm and cosy while enjoying a good book, board game or glass of wine.”
ANEW Resort Ingeli Forest is nestled below the Ingeli Mountain range near Kokstad in KwaZulu-Natal, only one hour inland from Port Shepstone and two and a half hours from Durban. Pienaar adds, “Surrounded by beautiful indigenous forests, ANEW Resort Ingeli Forest is the ideal place to unwind during Women’s Month. It provides the perfect opportunity to gather up your friends or female family members for a long-overdue girlfriend getaway of pampering and togetherness. Massages and skin treatments always go over well on girlfriend getaways, and these trips are ideal for bonding, relaxing, and unwinding.”
Perfect winter getaway
With winter bringing colder mornings and evenings, the idea of a crackling fireplace, hot chocolate, and spending some extra time in bed is becoming more appealing. A feeling of longing, peace, and happiness at being in Mother Nature is an effective way of finding calm and balance. Outdoor activities include mountain biking and trail running tracks, allowing guests to truly appreciate the beauty of the natural surroundings.
“Our onsite Seruga Spa offers the ultimate relaxation experience with a variety of spa treatments, including massages, facials, pedicures, and manicures. Even if you’re not a guest at ANEW Resort Ingeli Forest, you can hang out and use its facilities all day just by booking a treatment. There is no better way to treat yourself or that special lady in your life with a luxurious spa treatment, perfect for some mid-year relaxation and rejuvenation.”
“We invite all South Africans to celebrate Women’s Month like only we can. Take a break from the busy city and enjoy a combination of country living and comfortable accommodation this August, where fine food, outdoor activities in natural surroundings and relaxation await,” Pienaar concludes.
