Chapmans Peak is the name of a mountain on the western side of the Cape Peninsula about 15 kilometres south of Cape Town, South Africa. A spectacular road, know as Chapmans Peak drive hugs the near vertical face of the mountain from Hout Bay to Noordhoek with excellent views of Hout Bay and a rocky outcrop known as the Sentinel.

It is also the provincial capital and major city of the Western Cape Province. Cape Town is the seat of the national parliament and is also the legislative capital of the Republic of South Africa. The city is famous for its natural beauty and floristic region as well as Table Mountain and the Cape Point. Cape Town was name the World Design Capital for 2014 and was named as the best place in the world to visit in the same year by The New York Times and The Telegraph. The first European settlement of the Cape started in 1652 when Jan van Riebeek arrived to establish a shipping outpost for the Dutch East India Company.
